Every resident should have access to secure, open, reliable internet access regardless of whether they live in rural or urban Wisconsin. It is essential for a 21st Century economy.
Last week, Governor Evers signed Executive Order #80, creating the Governor’s Task Force on Broadband Access. The task force will advise the governor and Wisconsin State Legislature on broadband actions and policy, including strategies for successfully expanding high speed internet access to every residence, business, and institution in the state
Broadband should be a utility, not a luxury. Broadband access is an essential catalyst to drive community, public safety, small business, education, and farming. The internet is a necessity in today's world. Rural Wisconsinites are being put at a competitive disadvantage and that needs to change. This is a problem of political will and priorities, not capacity or feasibility. When elected, I will work to bring safe, affordable internet service to every corner of Wisconsin.
